Built from the inside of the markets that move your balance sheet

IWE Advisory was not built on a theory. It was built on nearly two decades of being in the room when the decisions were made.

The Begining

Inetina Watson Ebitonmor founded IWE Advisory – Global Markets & Financial Risk after nearly two decades of originating, executing, and advising global multinationals and large corporates across Africa, the UK, and EMEA on financial risk, first at Standard Bank Group (Stanbic IBTC) and then at Standard Chartered Bank, where she served as Director, Financial Markets Sales & Client Coverage.

The practice exists because of a simple, hard-won insight: companies don’t lose money only because markets move against them. They lose money because of decisions made before the risk was properly defined. IWE Advisory closes that gap – through structured advisory, governance frameworks, and market intelligence built from the inside of the markets that move your balance sheet.

Mission

A world where no CFO or Group Treasurer with African balance sheet exposure loses value simply because they lacked the intelligence to act – where practitioner-grade insight, once available only inside the largest financial institutions, is equally accessible to every senior leader navigating African market complexity, regardless of the size of their treasury function. A world where that complexity becomes a source of competitive advantage, not avoidable loss.

Vision

A world where no CFO or Group Treasurer with African balance sheet exposure looses value simply because they lacked the intelligence to act, where practitioner-grade insight, once available only inside the largest financial institutions, is equally accessible to every senior leader navigating African market complexity, regardless of the size of their treasury function. A world where that complexity becomes a source of competitive advantage, not avoidable loss.

THE FOUNDER

Inetina Watson Ebitonmor

Founder & Principal Advisor

Inetina Watson Ebitonmor is a senior corporate financial risk and treasury advisory professional with over two decades of Global Markets experience across Standard Chartered Bank and Stanbic IBTC / Standard Bank Group. She has spent her career advising CFOs, Treasurers, Group Treasurers, and C-suite executives of global multinationals and large corporates – originating, structuring, and executing FX, interest rate, and derivative solutions, including select commodity derivatives, across Africa, the UK, and EMEA.

Following her role as Director, Financial Markets Sales & Client Coverage at Standard Chartered, she made a deliberate transition into independent practice – completing an MBA with the Dean’s Award at the University of Kent and founding IWE Advisory to bring practitioner-grade market depth directly to corporate treasury environments, outside the constraints and product mandates of a banking institution.

Following her role as Director, Financial Markets Sales & Client Coverage at Standard Chartered, she undertook a deliberate transition into independent practice – completing an MBA (Dean’s Award, University of Kent, 2023) and founding IWE Advisory to bring practitioner-grade market depth directly to corporate treasury environments, outside the
constraints of a banking institution.

She is a Member of the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council, a CMI, UK Level 7 qualified leader, and an ACI-accredited markets professional. She is the author of Lessons from the Markets – a bi-weekly financial markets intelligence publication read by CFOs, Treasurers, Group Treasurers, and Directors to MD-level professionals across global institutions – and a recognised advocate for leadership and well-being development, and gender equality in financial markets, featured by the BBC in 2023.

Her work sits at the intersection of market mechanics, human behaviour, and governance under pressure – where the decisions that protect balance sheets are actually made.

Our Core Values

Our culture is defined by principles that guide how we advise, act, and deliver value

Precision

We approach every engagement with the same analytical rigour we brought to structuring and executing USD 1M–200M+ solutions across volatile markets. Every recommendation is built on accurate market intelligence, disciplined analysis, and a clear understanding of the specific balance sheet in front of us - not the average one.

Preparation

Calm markets are not the absence of risk. They are an invitation to prepare. We exist for the open window - the moment before the G7 decision tightens FX liquidity, before the documentation gap becomes a repatriation barrier, before the hedge boundary is tested by a market it was never designed to cover.

Independence

IWE Advisory was founded specifically to bring practitioner-grade market depth to the corporate side of the table - outside the constraints, conflicts, and product mandates of a banking institution. Our intelligence is not shaped by what we need to sell. It is shaped by what your balance sheet needs to hear.

Integrity

We act with complete transparency, in our analysis, our recommendations, and our acknowledgement of what we do not know. We tell clients what they need to hear, not what is easiest to say. Our independence from banking institutions means our advice serves one interest only: yours.

Clarity under pressure

The leaders who protect the most value in volatile markets are not those with the best forecasts. They are those who know their constraints so well that they can make one disciplined decision after another, even when information is incomplete and the pressure to act immediately is enormous.

Ownership

We take full responsibility for the quality of our thinking, the rigour of our frameworks, and the relevance of our recommendations. We do not offer commentary and step back. We stay alongside our clients through the decision - mapping the constraints, sequencing the options, and ensuring the governance is in place to act when the window is open.
